Hello Robert,

Just a very quick email to say hearty, hearty congratulations over Xerxes.. What a wonderful cast, and what superb music.. Really thrilling

Hello Robert,

Just a quick email to tell you how much Heather and I enjoyed last night's performance (of Xerxes); you really had a very fine group of singers and instrumentalists. We were amazed at how effective such a small orchestra was, and the soloists were a treat. As you've said many times, there is such a wealth of invention in Handel's work, every piece was full of interest, and it's great to have these seldom-played works available in Auckland. Thank you for all your hard work.

In the hope that i have the correct email address for the Handel Consort I would just like to say how very much I enjoyed the performance of Brockes Passion. Apart from beautiful music, the soloists, ensemble and quire were most professional and i feel that you deserved a much larger audience. Gina Sanders was superb.

I do hope that you will consider giving another performance - the work is exciting - with a very gorily worded libretto in places!!! I attended at the suggestion of a friend and will hope to come to more concerts, though shall be away for your next one.
Thankyou for a very stimulating evening of music

Congratulations on another Handel success!!!  The soloists were superb especially Jayne and Gina. Jayne's passionate involvement was captivating and such a clear pure sound!!!!  Of course Gina always gives a very dramatic and technically superb performance. The small chorus worked well - a good balance. Well done!   You must be pleased.

I wish to convey to you some feedback from the audience. There was a solid number of attendees nearing 200 at the production of Rodelinda in June, and so many expressed great enjoyment of the production and placed much value on the opportunity to be able to hear Rodelinda sung live here in Auckland.

Robert Howell has a very loyal following of a large number of concert-goers who admire his ability the produce little performed works of Handel, and also to premiere performances of Handel's great musical works and thus enable them to hear these productions live.

Robert always manages to draw together an excellent line-up of top Auckland soloists and this is a great attraction to his performances.

Many have expressed the hope that Robert will be able to continue to produce Handel works with the Consort and Quire as it enriches the Auckland music scene.

We are all very appreciative of your tireless efforts.

My friend and I were thoroughly spiritually uplifted by the absolutely beautiful concert on Saturday - the acoustics in that church are superb and the quire in top form - glorious! Sopranos in particular I must say. I closed my eyes during the high part of Oh Holy Night which is my favourite carol and it was sublime. Thank you all.

Hi Robert
The (Christmas) concert was really great. Especially the one lady singers only sang was fantastic to me. Tenor solo was also really good. I haven't got a brochure with me now so I can't remember the titles. I was impressed.

Hello Robert,
I've just arrived home from your wonderful concert in St Michaels, and felt I had to congratulate you immediately. I've sung the Dixit Dominus, but have never sung the Te Deum, though I've certainly heard of it.   What a tremendous work.  Where do you find your beautiful soloists?  I was fascinated by the interesting Baroque trumpets too. Again, congratulations!

Evening Robert,
It surely was a memorable event - wonderful. You are doing a great job, I am sorry I've not been able to get along to more of your concerts. I sat with some of my ex Dorian choristers and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  Congrats.

Dear Mr Howell,
This is just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed last night's performance.  Ms Medland in the role of Bertarido was particularly distinguished.
Hard to believe this was her first opera performance! The rest of the ensemble were also excellent. I look forward to more Handelian works from the Consort and Choir.
With sincere congratulations,

Congratulations on the performance of La Resurrezione on Saturday evening. We enjoyed it very much. It is one of our favourite oratorios, which we have come to know through listening to CD's, but it was great to hear a live performance. We thought the orchestra did a fine job particularly with the storm aria and also the cooing of the doves. The soloists were very well chosen and sang with great feeling.

Thanks for providing us with such a great series of works by Handel.

Dear Robert, Consort and Quire,
That was a wonderful performance of Athaliah last weekend. Truly enjoyable. I'll greatly look forward to the next event in the series.
Regards,

Congratulations to you and all who were involved in the production of Semele. It was an outstanding performance. The soloists were magnificent!!!!!! Of course the chorus and orchestra provided an equally outstanding support. How good can these talented soloists get!!!!

I especially enjoyed the two sopranos and Beverley Hicks never fails to deliver exquisitely clear diction and sincerity of expression. Bravo!

Again, congratulations and well done!!!!

Congratulations to you and all those involved in the production of Semele last night. All members of our 7-strong party enjoyed it thoroughly. Gorgeous music, wonderful performance, great acoustic.

Thanks again, and best wishes for this afternoon's/this evening's repeat.

Another glittering triumph last night!! You people are going from strength to strength. Wonderful soloists and musicians. Great having Peter Watts. I thought the Quire excelled themselves. Loved the thunder too. Thanks for a wonderful evening - we really enjoyed it. Terry was thrilled to win the Joshua CD also. Loved the merchandise. All the very best

A great achievement I thought, wonderful singing from Jayne Tankersley, Beverley Hicks and Edward Scorgie

To Robert Howell and the team, Thankyou for a stunning performance of Semele. We were truly ‘blown away' by the consistency of the performance and the tightness of the production. Count us in for all future productions! We applaud the focus you have on the works of Handel.

I loved Joshua!! Great consort, beautiful work by soloists, wasn't the chemistry between David and Lisette great?? And Iain is just so lovely to listen to.

Congratulations to all.

Brian and I were blown away by Alexander' Feast. Congratulations on your wonderful performance. We thoroughly enjoyed it. What a great venue for showing what can be done with voices. We thought all the soloists were superb, the orchestra and chorus beautifully balanced and the whole presentation uplifting. This outing was my birthday treat and what a treat it was. We hope the Handel Consort and Quire does another oratorio sometime soon.

I'd just like to add my congratulations to this message from two of our friends who attended the concert last night. It really was a wonderful performance, and this was echoed by everyone I spoke to afterwards. Well done!

Great show last night, most enjoyable and I admire your vision and energy. Opened my eyes to Handel with much greater variety, harmony and moods than I had appreciated.

The concert was fabulous! Marvellous soloists and wonderful rich tone from the choir. Congratulations on bringing off yet another excellent performance.

Yes, I was there and it was brilliant! Congratulations on a very successful performance!

I wanted to congratulate you on your vision and dedication that you have clearly put into staging the New Zealand premiere of Alexander's Feast. Tonight's concert was a great success, and your organisation of the whole event clearly got everything together with everyone confident, relaxed and enjoying themselves to perform this work. Well done! The audience was buzzing at the interval, and then even more so at the end.
